HAPPY 150 CANADA, EH!

 

When I saw the "Fireworks" Theme, I immediately thought of Birthday Blast stamp set and Edgelits.   They were the closest to "Fireworks" for me.    The colors that I used are Real Red and Whisper White - Canadian Colors, eh!  The card is rather thick and if it was being given to someone, I would make a belly band or tie a ribbon around it to keep it closed.  However, I always decorate my entrance way with a few Canada Day items and this card will be displayed on my console.   This theme definitely got my creative juices flowing and after being inspired by all the beautiful cards from the Design Team, I was ready to Create!

I know its early, but Happy 150th  Canada!    This is my Canada, and I am proud of it.   Our freedom should not be taken for granted, but appreciated to its fullest.   We have so many new immigrants.... lets welcome and make them proud to live in Canada!

This week's Challenge is Hosted by Kathy and her Inspirational Photo.    I don't know about you, but I had a hard time coming up with ideas for this photo.   So, I used the Boughs and Berries embossing folder,  and went from there to create my card.

Misc.:  Pretty Pines Thinlits Dies, Ovals Collection Framelits, Decorative Label Punch, Silver Metallic Ribbon, Boughs & Berriers E.F.

 

My Ovals are representing the bowls and jars in the photo and I have placed pine boughs, pine cones, and sprigs of berries instead of the fruit.   The embossing folder completes the card.

This week's challenge is a Feminine "Anything Goes" challenge and the Hostess this week is Libby.    Check out the amazing cards by the Watercooler Wednesday Design Team.    The cards they created for us are beautiful and so inspiring.

I used the wonderful "Oh So Succulent" stamp and die set, and I love it!   I made two cards, and they have different sentiments on the front.  They are "perfect" for that Special Feminine person.   Who doesn't like to receive flowers?   These two cards would be perfect to give to all those Special Ladies.

Hi Everyone!   This week's Hostess is Debbie and her challenge is to create a Monochromatic Blue Christmas Card.

 

I had a lot of blue scraps of paper, so I used them along with the "Winter Wonderland" stamp set and even colored my two little birds in blue.

I love "Anything Goes".  It can be anything you want to do for the challenge.   My card today is the "Twist and Pop Up" card.   I have just discovered it and love the effect when someone opens it.   It is definitely a "Wow" card.    I have to give a special "Thanks" to my sister for having the patience for showing this technique to me.   She even made a template for me and once you have made the first one, well , you just want to make more. LOL.

A friend was clearing out her paper stock and I saw this and immediately thought of the "Beautiful You" stamp set.   This was gorgeous paper and blended really well with the Perfectly Artistic DSP.  There was only one sheet and I have enough left for a card front.  Isn't it gorgeous!

Hello Stamper's!   The Hostess this week is Deanne and her challenge is a Christmas card with a Rustic feel to it.  I immediately dug out my Hardwood Stamp and my Swirly Scribbler Dies.   I used Cherry  Cobbler for my base and fussy cut pine branches and then topped it all off with the Burlap ribbon.   I stamped the pine branches with two shades of green and also used white to enhance.    I only bought the stamp set for Christmas Pines and was kicking myself for not buying the die cut.   After fussy cutting the pine branches, I have since added the die cut to my next order.  LOL
