Another great challenge and this time  I am using the "Swirly Scribbles Thinlits."   These die cuts are so easy to use and look fantastic on cards.  My Swirly's are in Sweet Sugarplum, Pink Pirouette, and Mint Macaron.  I then stamped the little bird in Night of Navy and "fussy cut" them out.  My base is Night of Navy with a layer of Very Vanilla embossed with "Birds and Swirls" to give the card some depth.

MERRY MONDAY CHRISTMAS CHALLENGE #208

I created this card for the challenge, but was too late to enter it, so I now have a second chance with the "Christmas in Summer Link-Up!"   I really admire Shaker cards and this is my first attempt.  You can call it my proto-type!  LOL!  Lots of mistakes, but that is how you improve.

Watercooler Wednesday WWC76 - Penny's Clean & Simple Butterfly Theme

These are the rules for clean & simple:

   Either a single layer upon which we stamp or a base with a single layer upon which we stamp. Since we use embellishments for any other type of card, no embellishments or die-cuts or anything except the simplicity of stamping for the "clean & simple".  We will allow heat embossing since, if one decides to use a colour, heat embossing would show better than simple stamping. But no embossing folder embossing. Clean and simple!

I am so glad that the above information was posted.  This clarifies "Clean and Simple" for me.   I used two different stamp sets for my card and once I decided on colors and what butterflies to use ......my card was ready in a short time.

Thank you for the Honorable Mention.  I am also sharing it with Maria Vanderform, and her beautiful card.  I am proudly displaying my badge today.

My card this week is a combination of black, white and gold.  The rose from the stamp set "Lotus Blossom", was stamped first in black, and then with versamark and embossed in gold.  I then layered it up with "Gold Soiree Specialty dsp", and with black card bases, and then topped the card off with gold brads.

A WEEKEND WITH MY GRANDDAUGHTER!

Canada Day Weekend with Laura

This year's Canada Day was extra Special as my granddaughter "Laura", stayed with us for 3 days.  We loved every minute of her visit with us.  Thursday was her first day with us and we went shopping for groceries.  She was a big help at the grocery store and when we brought the groceries into the house and up the stairs.  We also met Grandpa where he works and he bought lunch for us at the Golf Course where he works. 
On Canada Day we went to the Armstrong festivities and celebrated with a great big piece of Canada Cake.  We had a lot of fun! 
Yesterday, we went to Kelowna and met Laura's parents and Ian (her brother) at the Old Spagetti Factory for a wonderful lunch.  It was a wonderful stay and we were sad to see Laura go.  They are staying in Peachland and will be on the way home to Williams lake on Sunday. 

Needless to say, we did not ignore my Craft Room.  We had so much fun, and it was great to teach Laura about stamping.  She made a card for her Mother's birthday, and two Thank You cards as well.  This was a very special time for me and hopefully for Laura.  I am now hoping there will be many more times that she will visit us and stay over. 

You are a very Special Girl and we love you so much!

Laura used this stamp set for both of the cards.  She loved this stamp set.  She is a natural for crafting, has a good eye and creative skills.  She chose the colors and dsp for her cards.  We used the big shot to cut the dies and use an embossing folder to create these two cards.  Of course, Grandma send her home with some craft paper, stamps and stamp pads.  Until next time sweetheart, Happy Crafting!     Love, Grandma Heather

For this challenge, we need to create a Tag!   It can be a tag itself, or featured on a card, or it can be a tag attached to something.  My creation is an envelope with tags.  It is on the large size, so I created a special envelope to send it in.  This could also be displayed on a wall or desk.

MERRY MONDAY CHRISTMAS CHALLENGE #211

These are my favorite colors for a Christmas Card.   I love how they all go together.  I found a perfect image in silver, white and pale blue and then made a beautiful gold frame to complete my card.
