I sure love this new die cut.  I have made many Valentine's cards for friends and family with this beautiful design.  I also made a birthday card for my wonderful sister.  This die cut is so versatile.  I also used my bird builder punch and a dobber to put some shading on the underside and wing of the bird.

MERRY MONDAY CHRISTMAS CHALLENGE #189

Oh what fun this challenge was!   What I like about one layer is that they are very mailable, but also you can make a lot at one time.
My card was made in 15 minutes start to finish.

I love clean and simple.   They are fast and easy cards to do, especially if you are making a lot of the same style.  My card today is all in white, but is very striking in its simplicity.  I used Dimensionals under the embossed layer and under the star in the cut out area to pop it out.  I also added Silver Stickles on the word and around the star.

MERRY MONDAY CHRISTMAS CHALLENGE # 188

When I saw this post, I immediately remembered my little stamp set of House Mouse sitting in a cup of hot chocolate and smacking his lips with marshmallows smeared all over his little mouth.  I stamped another cup and then used dimensionals to make the cup pop out a little more.  I then used some Puffy Ink (Souffle') to make the marshmallows look a little more creamy and pop them out too.

WWC 50 - Jean's Technique Challenge

I saw this design a long time ago on a quilt that was hanging in a store and loved it.  It is called "Pinwheel", and this has shown up in a lot of handmade cards.  This took quite a bit of time, because I had not made one in awhile.  Good old "utube" for watching how it is done.  I also used an old favorite in dsp......Attic Boutique for my color choices.

As you can see it is a little of sync.  I think I had the wrong measurements for my bottom frames.

This was a good challenge.  I had to search through a lot of my dsp to find something with plaid on it.  I thought well maybe an ornament with plaid showing through with a further layer of plaid behind it, and this is what I came up with.  The closest find was gingham.

 

 

 

 

I added dimensionals under the ornament to pop it out. Found some ribbon and added a gold bow.

WATERCOOLER CHALLENGE WWC 49

I loved all the cards created by the Watercooler Artists.  They were all showing items from the new Spring Catalogues, and each one created a different look.  Both books have some exciting bundles and stamp sets.  My card was created for one of my grandchildren who will be 8 next week.  Like all boys he loves Lego and all the associated toys that go with it.  I added some humor with the sequin eyes, but after all it is a Robot and would have metal eyes.  I was using Black cardstock for my base card and the pictures turned out a little dark as well.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

We have had a lot of snow in the last 3 days, good for skiers and winter sports.  I am recuperating from 2 hip replacement surgeries and next ski season I plan to be up there.  My ten year old Granddaughter is learning to ski this year and my goal for the end of the year is to ski with her.   What fun that will be!

I love the choice for the challenge this week.  White on white is so gorgeous for cards.  My card is a scenic view looking through a window and seeing a tiny village and a horse and carriage travelling through the snow.  I did use two different whites and lots of glitter throughout the scene.
