I hope I am not late for this week's challenge.  It was my birthday last Thursday, and I had a week of birthday celebrations.  So, my time spend on cards was very minimal.  I found this challenge very interesting.  I embossed on newsprint dsp and was delighted the way it came out.

There is nothing more beautiful than seeing trees and their bare branches in the winter time.   Especially with fresh snow or ice crystals.

I used another favorite stamp set for my creation.

#3 Card in a box - Men's Card - My Husband's Birthday Card

This is another card in a box that I did.  It is for a man that loves to fish, and my husband sure does.

He really loved it.  Last year it was Western, lots of cowboy hats, buckaroos, boots and horses.  That is what is great about this card style is adapting it to the person's interests..

#2 SCREEN CARD FOR OUR NIECE & FRIENDS

#2 Screen card

Our niece, Claire, was 18 in March and I wanted to make her a special Birthday card.
She is a very talented young lady and is totally involved in Circus West in Vancouver.  Her passion and dream is to be in the Cirque du Soleil one day.  She just played "Dorothy" in the show "Circus of Oz", earlier this month and was fantastic.   Well done, Claire!

The Screen card is a favorite of mine.  Once you have decided on the colors of the card stock and the embellishments, the card will take about and hour start to finish.  I also made a special envelope.

Our friends, "Larry and Carol", also had an anniversary around the same time.  This card was the same design, but in different colours and I also made an envelope for the card as well.

OTHER PROJECTS -- #1 CARD IN A BOX

I have several cards that I have made in the past couple of months, and I want to share some with you.  I do love participating in the challenges, but also am going to take a break for a couple of weeks.   I will be posting other projects in the next few days. 
 
I am also behind in my yard work and sewing and my craft room looks like a bomb hit it.  So...........I must get caught up!

#1 - Card in a Box - A Special Birthday Card for a daughter - 50 years young!

This is a card in a box with the envelope.  I decided to make it very feminine with lots of pink.

Embossing is one of my favorite things to do on a card.  Whether dry or heat, the image on the card always seem to pop out and look beautiful.

This challenge really intrigued me as I loved the colours used on the designer cards.  I made 10 assorted cards like this for any occasion.  It could also be a Mother's Day card.  It brings me many memories of having tea with my Mom.  She makes the best tea (she is 93), and always says that tea is best served and drank in a good china cup.   This card is for you Mom! 

 

  I say "Shabby Chic" is my style.   Mom loves lace and flowers.  What more can I say.
