Today, I have used the in-colours from S.U.  They are so beautiful.   The dsp is from the back side of the calendar that came out last year from SU.  The design was so pretty and colourful, that I did not want to throw it out.

Ink:  Lost Lagoon, Tangelo Twist, Mossy Meadow
Stamp Set:  Flower Patch

I realized after my card was finished, that I failed to read the instructions properly.  The word was "Tree".  My card has more than one tree in it, but thought what the heck, I will post it anyway.  It is another contribution to my stack of Christmas cards.  The card also looked rather stark, so I added the buck for contrast.

Cardstock:  Night of Navy, Whisper White

Ink:   Night of Navy

Stamp set:  Scenic Season

Die Cut:  Deer Trio - Memory Box

Misc:  Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper, Iridescent Ice E.P.

 

So hope you like it.  This card took 1/2 hour to make, once I had decided on my colors.  I also used my Oval frame die to cut out the center of the Glimmer Paper.  This way I can use the Oval on another card and I only have the outside to use as a layer under my cardstock of the trees.  Have a great week Everyone!  See you next time!  Heather :)

These colors definitely call out SPRING!  I didn't have "Wild Wasabi", so used "Old Olive" which was pretty close.

My creation this week is a mixture of old and new, especially the stamp set. 

 

A closer look at the circle area.  This was masked and embossed with the Hardwood E.F., then inside of the circle I used Versa Mark and embossed with White E. Powder, then the final touch was brushed with Shimmer Paint "Champagne Mist".  Then I used the heat gun to dry it.  It turned out really cool!  A little bit of work, but worth it.

Inside of the card I placed another little gift box.

 

 

Today I am using another favorite color, especially for Christmas cards.  It is Cherry Cobbler, along with Very Vanilla which is embossed with Holiday frame.  The Gift box is a small Sizzix die cut called "Gifts, polka dot".  I overlapped the bow with Silver Glitter and used it under the polka dots.  The sentiment is a Memory Box die cut.  All in all it turned out pretty good.   Thank you for visiting my site and hope this gives you inspiration for a fast little card.  I welcome comments.  Check out the Merry Monday for more beautiful cards. Another great challenge.  I thought I would go with my new stamp set "A Happy Thing", and use the lemon stamp.  Then I used the technique "masking".  After several tries, I finally got the hang of it.  Hope you like my colors.  They are cheerful and makes a great birthday card!

There are so many different shades of blue, and they always look good on a Christmas Card.

 



 

I have kept my card  clean and simple using Coastal Cabana, some matching Dsp, and a beautiful stamp set "Peaceful Season".  I used Silver Glitter to finish it off.

For today's blog I used all the colours along with an old favorite stamp set "Fresh Cuts".  I stamped the floral image on Mossy Meadow CS with Blackberry Bliss ink, then spotlighted the flower image with Whisper White CS, Blackberry Bliss and Mossy Meadow ink.  The butterfly is a Memory box die cut and the sentiment is from Fresh Cuts as well.  I also used Swiss Dots E.F to make a nice layer.

Hi everyone!  We have another beautiful sunny day here.  All the clocks have been changed.  I forget how many clocks we have until it is time to change them.  :)

 

This card is full of old favorites mixed with some in colors.  I would say it is a Clean and Layered look.

Embossing Folders:  Lacy brocade, Wildflower Meadow

Stamp sets:  Wildflower Meadow, Wetlands (sentiment)

A SIGN OF SPRING - PUSSY WILLOWS

Pussy Willows....
I have a rather large Willow tree in the back yard and it grows at least 7 feet from spring to fall.  In the spring all the new growth is these fantastic long branches of Pussy Willows.  These are absolutely beautiful and a wonderful reminder that Spring is around the corner.  I thought I would share these so you can see how beautiful they are.  I cut them for my mother and friends who love to get them every year.

 

As you can see they are very long.  Some are between 5-7 feet.

 We also have a Corkscrew Willow tree as well, but we have not cut this tree as yet.  I will show the cut branches at a later date.

I am starting my Easter cards this week, and today my card is showing a little chick with dazzling diamonds all over him as he comes out of the egg.  He also has some new grass and flowers at his feet to welcome Spring!

ALWAYS PLAYING WITH PAPER -CHALLENGE #26

The Challenge #26 - Chance to Fly!

I immediately thought of airplanes.  This stamp, of course,  is a Vintage airplane, but boy would it ever be great to just fly away.....especially to somewhere warm. 
I chose all the colors and the sketch to make my card.

THE CARD CONCEPT #29 (GET WELL SOON)

Another post challenge and this one is a Get Well Soon for Card Concept #29.  I thought of my brother for this card.  He is recuperating with a broken ankle and needs some cheering up.


I used the designer paper and card stock from 2013-2015.  The flower is from Memory Box and is called "Graceful Silhouette".
I also used the Circle Die cuts and an old faithful stamp set "Sincere Salutations".  Then used the decorative punch to cut out the sentiment.

Also added some glitter to the flower head.

MERRY MONDAY CHRISTMAS CHALLENGE - STARS

Hi everyone!
Well here we are, it is March 1st, and we have another beautiful day in the Sunny Okanagan!  My post today is for the Merry Monday Christmas Challenge and it is all about stars.

This was another fun challenge.  In fact, I loved it so much that I made 3 of them.  I now have over 20 ready made Christmas cards for this year.  What a great start!

 



 

My ingredients were: 

Basic grey CS

Bits and pieces of Christmas DSP

Lucky Stars EF

Stars Framelits Dies

Dazzling Diamonds Glitter Paper

 

My inspiration came from my Fabulous, Talented sister, Penny Hanuszak.  She posted one similar in November last year.  I used the Dazzling Diamonds to be a little different.  I used her technique of cutting the glimmer paper 5 1/4 x 4 and then cutting out the stars and using the cut form as my first layer on the card.  I then cut the embossed basic grey 5 x 3 3/4 and it fit perfectly over the dazzling diamonds.  This way you are really utilizing your Glitter paper to the fullest.  You can see her version at:
