What a great sketch for the challenge!  I immediately thought of Spring colors and came up with my version of the colors of daffodils blooming.

FAERIES FOR MY NIECE!

Valentine's day was my niece's birthday and she was 7!  Her name is Ava, and she is the cutest little girl. 

This is the card that I sent for her special day.

I know she loves faeries and flowers.  I embossed the faerie with Wild Wasabi, and added some "jewels" on her slippers too.

The "Lotus Blossom" stamp set is really great, and I love the Lovely Lace Embossing Folder. Whisper White and Strawberry Slush colors complete the card.

VALENTINE CARDS

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

What a beautiful gorgeous day in Vernon.  We have sunshine and of course it always makes you feel better to see the sun in the winter time.  We have pussy willows ready to pop and already seen a flock of robins.  Yes, robins are here!  They came two weeks ago and were shocked to see 2 feet of snow here.  Where are the worms?  During the last two weeks we have had very mild weather and rain, and our snow has melted quickly.  Hopefully Mother Nature is not fooling us with a false spring.   

Today I thought to share some of the Valentine cards made for our family.

I was late this year getting them off in the mail, but everyone received them yesterday.  I also made gift bags for the little ones and of course filled them with some goodies.

FORTUNE COOKIE PROJECT

I made this project for one of our many luncheons that we have each month.  I belong to Crown Jewels of Canada Society and our club name is "Glitter Gals".  We dress in white, red and purple (lots of glitter of course) the third Wednesday of the month and our primary object (besides eating), is to have FUN.  It is a great way to get together over lunch and just enjoy each other's company.  We also wear hats or something on our heads.    Each month someone in our group volunteers to find a restaurant and contact our members with the location.  I am the Queen of the group and our birthday anniversary month is September, so my partner in crime (Linda D.) and I wanted to make something special for our ladies.  So......we made these Fortune Cookies as a complimentary gift at the lunch.
We used felt and made two sizes.  I also used my Big Shot to cut the circles. 

 The small red circle is 3 1/2" in diameter and the white scalloped circle is 4 1/2" in diameter.  We did prefer the larger one, as it was easier to gather.

Check the internet for "Fortune Cookie" sayings and print them out and cut them to fit inside these circles.  I also put in two kisses or other small candy.

Gather up the two ends.  Check out where the white pin is and the
other side where there is a paper clip.  Stitch a couple of stitches at each end.  That is what holds them together.

This is the finished project and as you can see it looks just like a fortune cookie.  This is the top.

A great conversation piece, especially with the fortune cookie sayings. 

I am still recuperating from the flu and cold, but will get back to the challenges soon.    Keep crafting!    Heather :)

POST-IT-NOTE HOLDER

Well, it is snowing outside again, and I have a cold, so thought I would post another project.  These are so easy to do and a great item to have at craft fairs, etc.
